Andrea Rieck Poems

It’s autumn again
Leaves whisper the sound of our past
In loss they pay a descent
To the ground we fall
...

Silence
No prayers
No songs
No voices
...

On invisible wings, doth the moon rise
bringing to the black and violet sky its faithful hue
of magic bold, of life’s eternal dance
It burns the skies with enchantment strong
...

Grow to wither
Laugh to cry
Watch time pass you by…
...

Here at the river I sit
The sun is bleak
And the clouds are low
But beside me butterflies flutter to-and-froe
...

It is after-dark
The sun has descended and the sky has turned purple and black
Now is when the shadow moves
Under the light of the stars and a dimly lit moon
...

I feel I am on stage
I feel them watching me
I can’t leave this performance yard
But why do they have to stay?
...

I’m the shadow that light casts away…
I’m the smoke that came after the fire
I’m the star that died the day it was born…
The one that cried for it after
...

These are my streets
From my birth I knew these winds
Cold with pain
...

Are you afraid?
Just let your soul take flight
Take my hand
Forget your woes tonight
...

Sunset
Set me free
Rainbow of firelight
...

Oh, silence
Singer of the dawn
Recite for me sweet lullabies
Of death and what’s beyond
...

On the floor lies a secret now shattered
Watching eyes now lay as broken pieces
Harrower of one-time tales long battered
Speaks no more of sights of passing faces
...

My world is pink and black
Made of paint and carpenter’s hats!
Your world is dull and plain –
Hail the living of the sane!
...

Where has the world gone?
Under a blanket of white
It’s time for winter’s song
And it’s whimsical sight
...

16.

There is nothing there for me
Not any more
It has vanished like the summer
Or could it be it was never there
...

Every morning without delay
The sun comes up and brings with it a new day
A new chance to succeed
A new chance to cry
...

Here in darkness on this cold midnight plain
I see nothing as I wish, not a star
I fight with feelings that I cannot contain
For my hope lies shattered in a place so far
...

My rabbit’s gray ears are often sideways
Bright and strong-showed dark bluish eyes are hers
Her pinkish nose twitches in lots of ways
Her glossy pelt is the softest of furs
...

Andrea Rieck Biography

I'm a 17 year old girl that loves animals (cats, rabbits, and foxes the most) , listening to music (Female-fronted metal, please) , and playing video games (Klonoa, Sonic, Pokemon, etc) . With a few exceptions (such as the poem, Solstice, which is about one of my old rabbits) , I like to focus my poems on 'deeper' subjects.)

The Best Poem Of Andrea Rieck

It's Autumn Again

It’s autumn again
Leaves whisper the sound of our past
In loss they pay a descent
To the ground we fall

It’s autumn again
Our song is sung by the wind
Echoes of loss and grief
Through chilled air we wade

It’s autumn again
The waters grow as cold as our hearts
We are alike – crusted in ice
In ourselves we freeze

It’s autumn again
Flowers vanish from our sadness
Our beauty grows weak
Covered in frost we wither

It’s autumn again
The rain falls like our tears
Can’t dry our eyes
From the sky we descend

It’s autumn again
The sun shines then fails like us
Our sight becomes a wintry gray
Lost in darkness we will fade

It’s autumn again
