My First Poem

My first poem, so exciting!
I'm sitting alone in bed, thinking again
thinking about a poem
alone in bed, thinking again
of what to write in an exciting poem

I thought and thought of the poem again
alone in bed, thinking again
thinking about the poem
i thought of a main character, maybe fat Megan
but still don't know what to do!

I sit in bed, thinking again
thinking about the poem
i thought of a setting!
maybe, a farm with a big, fat, white hen

alone, alone, thinking again
thinking about the poem
maybe a conflict?
maybe Megan the hen, now and then
will go and eat a big black hen!

so there i was, alone in bed
finally finished my poem
alone in bed thinking again
'Oh how exciting this poem will be! '

so that was it, oh yes, again
thinking about a new poem
'Oh yes! ' i said, 'i'll do it again'
maybe now, maybe then, i'll write a poem about a big red hen!

so there i was sitting in bed, thinking again,
thinking about my exciting new poem
alone in bed thinking again
of what to write in my new exciting poem!
