Tyler Claus Poems

Aware enough I am
Knowing it is them that make the noise I hear
See these blankets made from ice.
The buckling of the breaking ice so loud, so sudden
...

Death, impenetrable darkness
Abysmal nothingness
With it the ability to feel no pain nor pleasure
Retreat from one's own mind
...

I look into the stream, watch fragments of somethings that were once a part of a greater, more elaborate and meaningful something
I see them come, I see them go
They round the corner, so I wonder inside myself
From where did they derive?

I Am A Robot

Aware enough I am
Knowing it is them that make the noise I hear
See these blankets made from ice.
The buckling of the breaking ice so loud, so sudden
Yet, only for the moment passed in time it plays
So short, one blink of an eye now opened.
Nearly over before it began
For so soon, it happened.
Only when the wind howls on
Spine is crawling now, against the messy floor.
Storming, screaming, winds never calm
Cracks the Lakes and their large ceilings.
Little things run through,
To and fro, you'd think this was the Ocean.

As weather turned for better
Bright hues of blue
Reminds of prior Summer months.
January weather never showed
But just three nights that winter it snowed
And with great warnings, yet,
Unused, we all sat and laughed and played
Heads turned that day, then, blew in the storm
A day like any day foregoing day

And then, stomachs clenched here,
I heard that heavy blanket, stitched from ice
Outside my door the frozen Lake has almost melted.
Souls ready, warned as their souls are,
With winter weather desisting for the bud of Spring
Bury me with February, melting like the sunlight snow,
My soul.

The day the howling winter winds are dancing,
Performing for your ears…
You blink your eyes
A few thousand times,
Laugh a couple dozen,
What happens when you've blinked all you're to blink,
Laughed all you are to laugh?
What happens when the day you die...
Is really…finally…here?
