This is…'that' poem
This is the poem where I supposedly take back my life
The poem where I say I am stronger than those who raped me
Who abused me
Who used me as if I was a doll
This is the poem where I say my life is my own again knowing full well it never was
where I say I am stronger than my past
Where I say I am stronger than all of the abuse,
the physical
The mental
The sexual
This is where I move on
You took everything from me
You took my life from me before it had even begun
People like you…you ruin lives
You cause people to take their life because the are disgusted with themselves
You almost caused me to take my life
Because I didn't want to live with the memory of what you did to me
But if I had done that you would have won
People like you destroy everything we are
And then its up to us to build ourselves back up again
Sure, we wont be the same
But we become stronger
Maybe not being the same is ok
Maybe we will become a way better person
And maybe one day ill be able to close my eyes without the flashbacks
Maybe one day I wont be scared of you coming back anymore
Ill be able to close my eyes without reliving every god damn thing you did to me
Every god damn thing you put me through
But you don't care about that
No, you wanted me to be broken
You wanted me to be so broken I wouldn't say anything
But you wanted me to remember
You wanted me to remember it forever
You wanted the pain to last forever
But you see, I don't like to lose
I don't like it when people try to control me
I refuse to let you win by letting you continue to control me
You. Will. Not. Win
None of you will
Because we wont let you
I will not let you
Because I AM stronger than this
I AM stronger than you

This is where I take my life back
But it's more than that
This is a war
Both with myself
And with you
And I PROMISE you
I WILL win
Or I will die trying
