My biography is much too lengthy to post here but I will state the things that have influenced my writing: 1) Suicide of my father 2) (Natural) Death of my wife 3) My tour in the Vietnam War (1969) 4) Diagnosed with throat Cancer and given 3 months to live 5) Going to Hong Kong to record my album 'War Torn Years' which is dedicated to my fellow combat veterans (esp. Liberal Christian

I know I am an outcast for the liberal way I think
I know that some exclude me for making such a stink
But I try to do the right thing, as I think Jesus would do
It’s difficult however, to be modern Christian true

I have always felt that Jesus especially loved the poor
He always stressed that we should always give them somewhat more
There’s that thing about a rich man getting into heaven’s gate
Something about a camel, perhaps that verse is out of date

Does being Christian mean having total blind ambition
Sacrificing the poor for the Christian Coalition
Making the rich richer by a series of tax cuts
To then cut social programs just sounds a little nuts

I am a Christian liberal who chooses love and life
I don’t care which gender someone chooses for a wife
And I know that such beliefs will get me reviled
But pro-life doesn’t mean abandoning a child

I know that it’s a cliché’ to say what would Jesus do
And to be quite honest, I really wish I knew
But one thing that I do think, is if He were here today
He would have equal love for those who were straight or who were gay
