Hair

Top of my head;
balding there.
Where's my hair?
Seems like only yesterday it was all there,
My hair.
Should I, do I, must I care?
About my non-existent hair?
Oh well, perhaps it's better;
Gives my beard more
'Raison d'etre'.
I couldn't have the unkempt, uncouth
Curly locks of a callow youth.
Still, my brain can't stop my tongue
From saying
'Hair, is wasted on the young.'
