Terry Stewart Poems

When I look at you
I see a miraculous sight
I see a vision of beauty
A thing of delight
...

They say that love is like a dance
Where two lovers take the other's hand
Where the sound of their hearts sets the beat
As their eyes and bodies softly meet
...

Carry me home if I fall in battle
I need to know you won't leave me behind
Carry me home with my fallen brothers
Who fought and who died by my side
...

He stands there strong
Dressed to fight
He's honor bound
To do what's right
...

I was there when the war was new
I fought and killed as I was trained to do
I even bled a time or two
But I won't fight again
...

I play at life as if it was a game
I give in to chance with every waking day
Logic and reasoning has little hold on me
They only cloud the path to the person I should be
...

Darkness brings a cold chill
To those without a home
Huddled under concrete eves
They seek shelter till the dawn
...

When I Look At You

When I look at you
I see a miraculous sight
I see a vision of beauty
A thing of delight

I see a lady of stature
With both grace and appeal
I see a woman so lovely
It's hard to imagine she's real

I see a mother that loves
With an endless emotion
I see a time when this love
Will be repaid with devotion

I see a tower of strength
Built from years on her own
I see a deep hidden fear
Of forever being alone

I see a chance to be happy
Perhaps for the rest of my life
I see a chance to be with her
As husband and wife

I see a picture of us
On a cold frosty morning
I see us walking through fields
As the sun starts it's warming

I see a whisper of love
Touched with a burning desire
I see this man with this woman
Whom I truly admire.
