Culture Of Corruption

Oh, I know you well
Your relationship with the people
Has been time tested
You are deeper like the oceans
And higher like the mountains
To prove you in the law
There should be a quid pro quo establishment
Since that is hard to come by
You run rampant like a puppet gone astray
Since your inception
The natives have been indifferent to you
You are revered in all circles
You come in various shapes and forms
You are either individual or institutional
Some call you tip
Some dub you bribe
Some even do you with the meeting of hands
Others institutionalize you
As organized corruption
Oops! ...Lobbying-to use a fine language.

In Sierra Leone, West Africa
You've become so popular
Leaders depend on you to enrich themselves
Through you they develop
Their pockets instead of the nation
By your mechanism
They get stuck an auto-mobile of a nation
In the mud of development
Foreign aides are never enough
To get the nation out of underdevelopment
Hi-Culture, you are a travesty
For a bleeding nation
Popular you are in pay for play
For favors, jobs, evasion of justice
Conduction of criminal activities
And buying silence or in-action.
Pop-culture, they use you
To turn people one against the other
You gave birth to a brutal civil war
Now; Ebola? A crisis became an opportunity for some
More foreign aides and more excuses
For retrogression, oppression and demagoguery
One might say, your epicenter is in the government
You are now a culture of a main stream society
You are a culture of a people.
