Tyranny Poem by Linda Harnett

Tyranny

Rating: 4.5

I plan today,
To run away,
Escape this dreary place,
I’ll hit the road,
In silent mode,
Contentment,
On my face.

I’ll set off soon,
By afternoon,
I’ll sit upon my beach,
And all alone,
No telephone,
And out to you,
I’ll reach.

We’ll talk a while,
A tear, a smile,
The tide will purge the pain,
The rolling mist,
From nearby hill,
Will touch me,
Once again.

And I will feel,
What once was real,
And tangible to me,
Negotiate,
The minefield,
Of emotional,
Tyranny.
