The Other Side Of Life Poem by Keith Eubulus

The Other Side Of Life

In the quietness of my meditation, I sought
answers for these:
When will the ambulance sail the waters
The ship the air and
The plane drive me home from work on road?

When will I see happiness at the funeral grounds
And sadness at the marriage feast?
When will hate be that force that unions two hearts
And love that undo the bond of marriages?

When will I have the mouse and the cat
Share table over a meal?
The lion become a pet at home
And the cat the king of the jungle?

I seek for the day water and fire be friends again?
When the desert be greener
And the sea drier?
When will the earth be called Pluto and Pluto the earth?

When will weakness be what may be needed to accomplish a task
And strength just for laying down?
When will the impossible be possible
And the possible the impossible?

When will the moon stay for the day
And the sun at night?
When will the slave rule over his lord?

When will the deviant be the advocate for
Morality in society?
When will water be the drink that sends
Drunkards to a boozing party?

But why do I seek answers to questions beyond
The realms of mortals?
Why do I fathom what is not?
Knowest I not that our life is of two parts?
