Perhaps Love Poem by Gary Grimsley

Perhaps Love

Perhaps love will do—
What no one else seems able to,
In opening the hearts of people to each other,
And allowing them to see themselves as brothers,
While learning to love one another.
Perhaps love can bring together,
All those people who see themselves as separate and apart,
To an understanding of their need for each other,
Born out of their dark and lonely hearts.
Perhaps love can do—
What all the thinkers and thoughts,
All the philosophers and philosophies,
And all the technologies can not,
In drawing the world’s people together into one;
Perhaps love can do—
What no one else has done.
