Mirror, Mirror Poem by JoAnn McGrath

Mirror, Mirror

Rating: 5.0

When I look in the mirror,
am I happy with what I see?
A reflection that seems as cold as ice.
Is this what others perceive?

Can they look past the 'pain' of glass,
and read whats on my mind?
Or is my surface too hard and cold
to find whats hidden inside?

Am I so shallow on the surface
Or so deep with my own fears
Am I holding back the love
as I'm drowning in my tears

Sometimes I'd like to throw that stone
and shatter all the doubt.
Because looking in the mirror
I have to face what life's about

JoAnn, some how I missed this when you first put this but I've captured it now. No I wouldn't say your reflection looks cold as ice, at least not from my side of the mirror. Warm and smiling is what I see.. Another great poem my friend. Thanks for sharing it. David
