Lust For Life Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Lust For Life

Up thinking of this all night, what I envision
is my lust for a better life, now in position
Everything is looking right, making the transition
Ready for lift off, I have taken flight
Out of mind, out of sight
but when you see me, you going wonder how I did that
watch and learn, i'll teach you
You'll find yourself do what i do
Getting rich ain't easy it is true
yeah, life had made me an offer
who am I to say no and refuse
back then you didn't want me
I got alot, you all on me
you in love
and as for them pretty little lies playing the field
see, you cold no you ain't with me
I'm going drink my drink
while you stand and think
of what you said at the time before you exited my life
go and get yourself a life
this my life i owns it and i be beasting
it's my life i know it and you'll be feasting
your eyes on me once you realize what you can have
once i turn you down don't you go getting mad
RIP, pouring liquor on your grave as a salute
keep it cute won't let your negativity pollute
the positive energy that I have embraced along with
the empire that I have built from the ground up
faking it like you're my friend enough is enough
out of this thing you getting zero, zilch, nothing
it's funny how now i'm in first place but you'll be
the last person to think they getting something
you never hoped it be your heart i start crushing
