My heart years for love
But I am so afraid
That if I let someone too near
They could hurt me beyond fear
I keep myself ‘safe'
As loneliness overwhelms
The only sancutary is within dreams
My smile is not what it seems
I feel so alone
Even within a crowd
Trapped behind a solid door
That I can not open any more
But I must be brave
Or risk fading away
Already life is full of pain
This front I cannot long maintain
With all the strength I have
Pushing my doubts afar
In hope you will not want to part
Here is the key to my heart
