In My Car Poem by D. M. L. Catseye

In My Car

I understand why
You hate the night
I hate it to

I am alone
Within my mind
And all the pain

It never leaves
Even in the day

Could I get away with leaving here
With driving to somewhere else
I would sleep in my car
Wrapped in a sweater
I’d still be alone
But I wouldn’t be here

Is that what I want
