Freedom Fighter Poem by June FeirCruz

Freedom Fighter

My wings are not broken
They were clipped so that I couldn't leave,
My legs are shackled
So that I couldn't walk away.

My eyes have been blinded
So that I couldn't see what was never there
The love I thought we had
It was never there, it never existed.

No need to say goodbye
For I may be here but I have long been gone
I have fought for my freedom
And the day is done.
