A Lady In Waiting Poem by June FeirCruz

A Lady In Waiting

Rating: 5.0

As I sit alone in this cold lonely night
I feel as though my heart has broken
I am prepared to pick up the million shattered pieces
Just to see your face again.

I do not even remember how convuluted things have become
How two people who understood each other got lost in translation.
I used to feel as light as a feather
Now I feel as though I am made of lead.

My pride prevented me from relishing the gifts you gave
Even though I knew it was from the heart
My antiquated beliefs got the best of me
And I have lost the one man I have ever loved.

I know that we are always in God's hands
And I hope that He is holding me up right now
For I feel so alone and so lost
Waiting for you to come home to my heart.

Belief has some to do with what we go through in lost relationships, but mostly it is our unadulterated female stubborness that makes us take the defensive. When relationships fail us we are more cautious the next time, and then we find we've missed having someone nice in our lives. This is a very poignant piece sis, and tells us about our emotional frailties. A 10+++++ and thank you for sharing. Love & hugs, Barbara
