Fame Poem by David Harris

Fame

Rating: 5.0

We all have dreams of fame,
of having our name known.
Around the world,
for something that we do.
Hoping fortunes might pursue.
Not all get that chance,
and by the wayside fall in despair.
Some carry on a lifetime,
praying and hoping,
their time will come one day.
That they may share with others,
a little of what they’ve done.
Have a crown of victory,
placed upon their head.
To carry on another day.
We all seek adulation,
whether young or old.
To stand in the spotlight,
on a stage of our own.
There to bare our soul,
from one day to the next.
Hoping we’ll not be forgotten,
as time passes on its way.
Leaving for future generations,
a little of what we say.

Hi, David: I enjoyed this one, too. Great sentiment and we can all relate. I will make only one suggestion here: 'having our name known. Around the world, ' I think you need to leave off the period after 'known' so the line will enjamb to the next line correctly. best, diva

Exactly, are you talking about me David, if not you certainly did a good job of describing me. I would like to leave something for all to remember. Mainly I just want to leave something for my family and friends to remember. Hopefully my poems won't get lost and family and friends will continue to read them. It would of course be nice to know that those around the world read them as well. Wonderful poem David, I love it.---Melvina---
