Edward, blinded by her light,
slithered into shade she made.
Little Teddy. Her delight.
She, perforce, must be obeyed.
Grown to manhood. In his prime.
Mind left wandering aside.
She 'the mother'. He 'the child'.
She to nag him, as he lied.
Marriage, children, followed on.
She decided. He complied.
Logic caught him by the toe -
logic to obey his 'bride'.
She demanded as her due
jewelery that would not fade
chose their holidays as well
and her Teddy duly paid.
Teddie found himself a girl.
Courted her, quite dignified.
Laid the clues to lead his wife.
Drew her, angry, to his side.
Heard her nagging. Little boy.
Taught her misery. Certified.
Begged forgiveness, like a child.
Claimed her snide remarks with pride.
Teddy's son was taught to suit
any woman giving shade.
And his daughter taught to nag.
Her demands must be obeyed.
