Center Stage Poem by Oliver Coleman

Center Stage

Hardwood floor, playful props
Red curtain goes up
The audience stops
They gaze with hard eyes
Release outside ties
Enveloped and free
Entertainment brings glee
It makes us forget
Most our pain and regret
Throw it away
You don't need it today
Mingle with friends
Good fortune it lends
I'm the stranger in black
On a performer's tarmac
Last line for the final score
Stand back and watch how I soar
