Borderline Poem by Joan Mashura

Borderline

Rating: 4.0

I woke up one morning and was inspired to write this poem. The words flowed out of me and onto the paper.

I dedicate this poem to someone who I believe is very special to God. My hope is that this someone will think back to an earlier time and remember that the happiest moments in life were the ones that were spent serving God and others.

Remember, the further you walk away from God, the harder your path of return becomes. However, all it takes are 3 Hail Marys and a good confession to set you on the right path......the path back to your true and loving Father, who waits for you with open and outstretched arms.

.....and so I leave you with this thought, written by a priest who has truly inspired me, the late Father Killian McGowan:

'Failure can do more than make us conscious of our need for God. It knocks us to our knees and makes us lift up our hearts. It makes us realize that life without Him is not only meaningless - IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. '

I believe in you! ! ! ! :)

BORDERLINE

A palette has many colors
But yours has only two
You dip your brush and paint with white
never knowing there's a blue

You work so hard to see only white
Never allowing there to be a gray
And now someone has let you down
It's time to run away

Again you take out your brush
Black is the color of your choice
It's easier to see this color
Than to listen to a reasonable voice

So your palette has two colors
One is good and one is bad
Never experiencing others colors
My, how that is sad

It's not really about the colors
Or the different shades you don’t see
It's really about the trust you lost
And how that came to be

It started when you were a child
When others were very bad
They mocked and teased with their uncaring faces
And this made you feel very sad

You looked around and called for help
You reached out for someone to care
All turned their backs and walked away
Never noticing you were there

After years of this horrid onslaught
That you suffered time and again
You attempted to appeal to anyone
Hoping to find a trusted friend

So time marched on and seasons changed
You taught yourself to cope
no one was really there for you
It's sad, you gave up hope

So now you have become your own palette
You are either black or you are white
You are caught in a vicious struggle
Your soul just wants to feel right

A palette is filled with many colors
But yours has only two
One is black and one is white
But here is what you can do

Mix the black and white together
Be open to something new
There is a shade that is called gray
And it will allow you to be you

With hope and prayer and FORTITUDE
You can change your palette around
Adding many different colors
Until the right ones can be found

So allow yourself to feel the pain
And experience a shade called blue
Remember your Father in heaven
Is the one looking after you

He will help you with the colors
He will mix each one just right
He will hold you in His loving arms
until you get it right

Through him your palette will be overflowing
With colors rich in hue
Awakening the child within
Let Him paint a brand new you! !
