Baby It's You Poem by chris schwartz

Baby It's You

Standing here in front of fresh cleaned glass
Well, there's a little more
Than last year
In the reflection.
Burn the rubber trying to get to you
Everyone says there's a lot of glare
Blinding what I see
In your eyes of perfection.
The mirror it ain't lying
Yet you see me like
Yesterday
Came realizing
Through the hellos
And goodbyes again

The only thing
Looking good on me
These days
Is you.
The only thing
That looks good on me
Is you.

Send you up in the sky
The glass is steamed again
Spend the next few days
Detoxifying
My affection.
But what you
Fill me with
There's no doubt
Of your intention
I realize

That the only thing
Looking good on me
These days
Is you.
The only thing
That looks good
On me,
Is you.

Baby, it's you.
