Skylark Woodrow Poems

Our sovereign Lord has given us a power above any other,
The power to love.
The power to love can save us when we are in danger,
Comfort us in our sadness,
...

Have you ever been friendless in the midst of a crowd?
Have you ever been lost in a sea of acquaintances?
Have you ever been alone surrounded by your "friends"?
You look around and all you can see are people you're supposed to "know",
...

I am afraid,
Afraid of what I do not know,
Afraid of what I cannot see;
But this place..... it brings me peace.
...

Meet me here;
In this place,
In this time.
I am waiting for You.
...

Poison pours off your tongue,
As smoke billows from your mouth.
Bitterness seeps from your pores;
You're toxic, right to the core.
...

Within the Earth dark and deep,
I awakened from Winter's sleep.
I felt the pull of the sun beckoning me, onward and upward,
It gave me no rest.
...

I want my peace,
Just let me die.
Dear God, why do you keep me alive?
I've been ready for the end since practically the beginning,
...

Stop,
Look at where you are,
Look at how far you've come.
It's okay to take this moment and stop and rest.
...

I have trouble telling you the truth,
Because of all the lies I've listened to.
Lies that you were unworthy,
That you would never be enough.
...

The perfume of flowers washes over me.
It is night,
The night being a time of rest and peace.
The moon smiles gently from above,
...

So this is what has come of all my trials and tribulations,
Of all those dark nights with seemingly no end.
I know who I am.
I know what I am.
...

That face in the mirror isn't me.
The smooth alabaster skin,
The striking eyes with their long black lashes,
The little rose petal lips.
...

Stretching forth her gentle fingers, the Sun awakens the Earth.
Their petals unfurling, the flowers turn their faces towards their Queen,
Yearning for her light kisses and soft caress.
The morning air is laden with their perfumes, as the dew of the night returns to the heavens.
...

She looks young,
So young, standing there with the wind in her hair.
But then you see her eyes,
Her ancient eyes that have seen things far beyond their years.
...

When one is alone they know they are alone.
They know that they have no one to stand by their side,
They know that they have no one to be their guide,
They know that they have no one to love, to cherish.
...

I have embraced my darkness,
Taken its hand and brought it out into the light.
Because when I kept pushing the darkness into the dark corner of my soul;
It consumed me.
...

How strange it is,
These places awakening from sleep,
All things ancient, mysterious, and deep.
...

You are wrong.
You say that I am not strong; but weak,
But that is only because you don't know what strength is.
You think that to be strong you have to be tough, hard, unbreakable.
...

It's all in your head,
No one can see it.
Your bleeding out,
And they say they didn't mean it.
...

Come close,
Still closer.
Put your head on my chest and listen to the beating of my heart.
Let me hold you tight,
...

The Power Of Love

Our sovereign Lord has given us a power above any other,
The power to love.
The power to love can save us when we are in danger,
Comfort us in our sadness,
And create everlasting bonds.
These bonds of love make the impossible possible,
Turn dreams into reality,
And show others that there is something more to this fleeting life.
Our mighty God has given us the power to love;
To love with a passion that crumbles all the world around us:
All the pain, all the suffering, all the hate.
Above all else, God has given us the power to love so that we may see a fraction of His love towards us;
For His love is an everlasting stream being poured into us so that His glory may shine through us.
We were made to be ambassadors to show this lost and dying world that there is such a thing as love,
And His name is Jesus.

Skylark Woodrow Quotes

All people are prolific. They want to create something…leave something behind, something wonderous and beautiful because they know they are but mortals and this is the only way they can achieve something akin to immortality.

In all that I do, I will speak and act with wisdom benefiting my station as servant of the Most High God
