Your woes are no longer hidden
They've left you shriveled and bedridden.

Gone are the days
When children would converge at moonlight and listen to the old man's stories
Marveling in rapt attention to every word
Of his tales of worthy dames and vibrant men who brought home countless glories!

Worries creep daily in my head,
And my soul is wary of what lies ahead…

It seems you've really filled your pockets
Large enough to buy jets and rockets.

Finally we've made it here
As we march into a new year
Without a single scratch or tear

A toast to good things coming our way
