It seemed so simple,
an old love to meet again:
talk, laugh, share.
So many years past,
What's new?
(I see your face, your cheek, touch your neck, feel your pulse,
Breathe you in, and I am lost, in the past.)
Both older, maybe wiser: read this, listen to that.
Remarkable the synchronicity we've found!
(I want to brush your hair from your forehead, bite your lip,
taste the blood, feel you inside me.)
Miles away, you live and work and play.
Life goes on. But I cannot, for wanting you.
