I stare at this clean slate
and wander through
the desolate canyon of my mind
waiting for visions to come down like rain

Each generation
is a new revolution
of music
style
...

Day after day I drive past a cemetery
vast and reticent
and see the orange sun carom off the marble stones
the scarlet roses stiff against the wind.

The workers begin to file in
as the sun peaks over the horizon.
Their faces sag like melted wax
as they shake loose from their dreams
...

He stands on his tower of authority
governing over the people
pointing his frail skeletal hand
toward the direction of a steeple.

You spring from the morning
to live through the day
only to fade into the night
...

The moonless nights
of impenetrable darkness
have consumed us.
...

Buried deep beneath dust and cobwebs
lies chests of forgotten memories.
On this long path that we travel,
through all the detours and side steps,
...

Come take a ride on my glass boat,
we'll contemplate life and discover new constellations of stars
that sit lazily in the dazed night sky,
using them to navigate this foggy enterprise.
