Sarah S. Walters Poems

Your Love is a secret,
A whisper, a spark
Of light in the dark.
As real as my thoughts.
...

A woman's beauty is not found
In the color of her skin,
The way she fixes her hair,
How she walks,
...

Hello. Goodbye.
Shalom.
Yes. No.
Maybe.
...

Scattering You gather,
And gathering You scatter
Again and again.
You cast Your seed on the wind,
...

The stones of the altar are the foundation of my faith,
Built up by the happenings of my life in all its intricate details.
The wood is the tree of me, both good and bad, offered up to burn the sweet smelling sacrifice
That is my flesh and all its earthly desires.
...

I wonder at the leaves
All shriveled and brown,
Hanging from a tree
Which has long been under
...

You are here
Waiting,
And I am standing here
With my hand up,
...

While I was trying
To get to the next big thing,
Life happened,
But I didn't even notice,
...

Limbs entwined.
Which are yours?
Which are mine?
This is true love found,
...

Your Love Is A Secret

Your Love is a secret,
A whisper, a spark
Of light in the dark.
As real as my thoughts.
A point in the heart.
Drawn from the storehouse
Of my human experience-
Unconditional,
And boundless.
The hug of my father,
The words of my mother,
The kiss of a lover,
The kindness of another.
Each man and each woman
Must draw from the well
Of their lives,
And if they search inside
The recesses of their mind
They may also find that
Your Love is a secret,
Singular to each
And every one.
