Sandy Rondo Poems

I’m running towards a field of roses
Running through tall grass
I dive right into the beautiful petals
But they break like thin glass
...

I believe in the living dead.
Not the zombies returning from their graves.
but the people who fake a laugh,
fake a smile.
...

What should the sane do when their worlds crumble down
When the whole hearts they thought they held
Begin to crack into shared forms
Their mates faithfully shatter unseen
...

You take this life and toss it
Forgetting who truly lost it
Together and than apart
Fighting about our own kin
...

Remembering every aspect

From his small little hands to his tiny pink toes
...

Scars beneath my skin
The soft mummers hanging on the wind
The pain I feel only thickening
Sorry stamped on my soul
...

Love isn’t everlasting
My Truelove for a day
A soul mate matched for an hour
People always change
...

Your eyes still light my nights
Even though now, I can only see them when I close mine
Your love, true love- I still feel your heart beating in my chest
Your blood, runs through these viens
...

A Field Of Roses

I’m running towards a field of roses
Running through tall grass
I dive right into the beautiful petals
But they break like thin glass
The thorns stab through my delicate skin
As I sink down into the leafs
I realize what I once thought beautiful
Could be the thing that would utmost deceive me
I desperately try to crawl out
But realize I’m in over my head
In these beautiful delicate flowers
With sharp razor blade stems
The roots like my own veins
Seem like they are connected to me
Holding me down
Breathing the roses sweet scent into my blood stream
As the stems like in a horror movie scene
Begin to crawl up over me
And as all light begins to fade
Everything labeled Life
Begins to slip away
