A Tree On A Mountain

You sir, with the axe,
I am here before you
Don't stare, don't laugh-

Don't act as if I don't notice you
I am a woman
But I may as well be a tree

You've seen me fall,
You've seen me wilt as time has passed
You've seen the ground swallow me.

I've been trapped, but I will fight
I may be tired
I may be weak

Don't let that fool you, for I am Vicious
I am strong
I am tenacious

I've lived a life up on a hill,
But I was swatted to the ground
You did not stop, you did not think.

I've been killed before,
But not totally destroyed
See, I sprouted a seed-

Before you could cut down all of me
And what a seed it was!
It flew through the winds and now I'm higher than I've ever been

I am not just a tree on a hill,
I've grown to be a tree on a mountain
It will not be so easy this time-

To trample me.
You'll have to climb
Up and up-

If you want to get to me.
So beware my enemy
Listen well

I will fight
With all my might.
You will not breach my height.
