Makes A Flower Blooms

The tinkle of the raindrops
Splashing on my window pane
Tells me that spring has arrived.
Spring rains water the earth.

Listen to the birdies singing
High up in the shade tree.
The creek is babbling
So happy, clear and free.

The sweet smell of blossoms,
Rainwashed and perfumed air,
Peonies, daylilies send fragrance
Drifting into windows everywhere.

Buds bursting forth on trees,
Green leaves are sproating
People splash in rain puddles,
Laughing, smiling and playing.

Oh, hear the patter of the rain,
I say, 'Never call it gloom! '
For every dropp of rain it's plain,
I see..... makes a flower bloom!
