I want to close my eyes

She closed her heart like an old screen door
She didn't want to use it anymore
Like a blue sky fading to grey
She slowly lost the colors in her face

No one even cares enough
To ask her what is wrong
Why she's acting the way she is
What's been going on

The broken hearted girl
Who just can't let it go
I try to hide the pain
But now and then it shows

Clicking, typing, talking
Sitting, emails, coffee
YouTube, online shopping
Boss is coming, stopping
...

The pieces that she left behind
The scars left on my heart
The memories stuck in my head
Are tearing me apart

We were only kids
We were free and running wild
You never said you loved me
But I could see it in your smile
