The Blind Curve

I took that path again today;
Again after a long time, i walked down that road.
again.. after a long time, i strolled down that way.
So much has changed since then,
yet looked the same anyway!

The birds still chirped with the same freshness,
the sun too smiled... like nothing was old.
The squirrels still ran about.. like small children playing,
And i just stood there... a little lost.. a little cold!

Everything seemed familiar, yet everything strange!
I knew these paths, yet they led nowhere.
This place, this road..these creatures around
once sang to me.. now they pierced a cold stare.

Wait! i said.. i know you all!
we played together and sang of fall!
we shared our secrets and tales of kinds
Don't you remember me? no more in your minds?

They looked at me and then stared some more,
then one of them told me a lore-

A small girl once played with us,
She had this twinkle in her eyes.
A small child once shared her tales,
she had a heart that knew no lies.
A little girl once sang with us..
and she spoke of moon and starry skies...

But one day she said, she can sing no more,
that her heart was broken, that her soul was sore!
She walked down that road and that curve she passed,
we never again saw of that chirping doll.

I felt shattered..like a piece of glass,
for it was me that they talked about.
Yet in this moment, i wasn't the same,
I had lost my soul, i was lost in crowd!

The spirit i once had, those twinkling eyes
and oh that heart that knew no lies..
I know not where i lost them all,
I know not where i lost my skies!

A Blind Curve, yes..that's what i took!
Without knowing i would lose my soul.
No way back now, no path laid back,
a lost identity, a gaping hole.

I move forward, i move along,
Searching for a heal and a new song.
i hum the songs i sang back then
Hoping one day i will cross this road again!
