Whispers

Shadows from the past
Is what holds me back
I tried to leave it behind
Tried to neglect it
For it creeps me out
But I can't

The past I have shaped
Mistakes, misdeeds
I wish I could go back
To clean up the mess
To be at peace, to move forward
But I can't

I have heard its whispers
Slowly poisoning my head
Stop! I screamed
My heart is in pieces
Tried to bring it back together
But I can't

Conforten zona- where it left me devastated
Constrained, diseased
It now tries to kill my aspirations,
My tomorrow
I would have let it
But I won't
