Doggerel Poem by Nel Omofolarin

Doggerel

Rating: 5.0

Dumb dukes distort dignified doctrines
Desecrates divinely distinct districts
Daily decimates definite dashing destinies.
Dear dimwitted, deftly-daft dudes,
Thy despicable digression duly delineates dementia!
Daddy devil's dire disciple's delight.
Doesn't demo-crazy depict delimiting dauntless demotic delightfulness?
Democracy, a delusive, demagogic despotic demonstration?
Dialysis! denominators do dearly denounce despotic devout!
Demystify these dense desperate desultory designations
Detoxify its deadly, doctrinal diph-theric dispersion
Deploy diligent delegates, denouncing dippy deity in deafening decibels
Deposing the despot down-towards deep, dark dungeon
Disestablishing despotic democracy, a dictum disclosure of his demise

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is a story of a Leader(dumb Duke) , who earned people's(denominators) votes & was elected to be president but, went against peoples expectations & became despotic.Dialysis...a process of removing dirts from blood.people wants him out! They deployed diligent delegates...till they show him out of power to prison (dungeon) .his sun will never shine again politically

Creativity at its peak. I was enchanted by the style of the poem - A kind of narration peppered with witty diction. - Yeah, a meaningful word play.

this is a new word to me: de·mot·ic diˈmätik/ adjective adjective: demotic 1. denoting or relating to the kind of language used by ordinary people; popular or colloquial - - - - - - - - - - - - favorite line: Deposing the despot down-towards deep, dark dungeon......... great alliterations WHICH i UNDERSTAND! i also have a poem on PH which is full of alliterations, but the lines do not tell a story; each is a a mini-story or scene. your poem was probably more challenging to write, and [though i don't follow all of it well, especially the part about democracy] i applaud it. just the alliterations made it worth reading, and i'm glad you were willing to use some words which i'll call non-alliterative. if i think of it later, i'll look my mine to send to you. let me now look at the second poem you have sugested to me. thanks for the poet's note. bri :) =================================

Dutiful dictation describes Doggerel's despotic days...not the way to write and who wants to know about a despot, I'm feeling a bit dotty...regards

dog·ger·el ˈdôɡərəl/ noun noun: doggerel comic verse composed in irregular rhythm. verse or words that are badly written or expressed. the last stanza deteriorates into doggerel - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - another new word for me. so NOW i see the poem in a different light and don't feel 'so bad' that i didn't completely get it. and [depending on how much of the above definition(s) apply] this explains the inconsistency i mentioned in my second of 3 comments on this poem. bri :)
