Zita Poem by Lissa White

Zita

As you drift off to sleep
After we pray to the Lord your soul to keep
When our prayers are said and done
No more laughter, no more sun
I stare into your eyes
I see the pain you try to disguise
In my agony I moan
Acting like a child, not acting grown
Stamping my feet and saying 'I don't want you to go'
But I know in my heart you have to go
Heaven is within your reach to see
So you can finally be free?
Leaving behind all the pain and junk
That took away your sparkle
And took away your spunk

It hurts to think of you leaving us one day
Our days are full of clouds and gray
So I will imagine how it will be
When your body is set free
As you dance around heaven
Twirling to the music
That plays softly in the clouds
And cushions your every step
As your age slips away from you
You are young, healthy, and free
The way you used to be
It brings me such peace
To think of you like this
Joining all those who has went before you
Reunited with Momma and Daddy too
As you lay your cheek upon Paw Paw chest
You will find great peace and rest
And no more hurt or pain
No more tears that fall like rain
One last thing I need to say
I will love you forever and a day
