Yours Too.......... Poem by RIC BASTASA

the corona virus spreads
creating a pandemic, and theories
about its origin, and how it came out,
and how it caused the deaths of
thousands,
are born, and all countries so badly
affected focus their eyes on China.

the blame game has just started, some
scientists are arrested,
investigations begin to create a map
on the spines of genius murderers,

here comes Trump, saying, There will
be consequences, and all eyes are not blinking,

the virus is still here
without a known vaccine.

China is silent. A yellow river running deep.
are the kois still alive and beautiful?
Do the cherry blossoms still bloom on Springtime?
Are the tropical beaches still on with their white sands
and blue waters?
Do we still drink beer and laugh aloud for all the jokes
from friends we meet?

Oh China, Oh China!
Is it prepared for these consequences? Are you the cause?
and we merely the effects?

Just asking, Just asking.
One move can create this domino effect.
And my country will not be spared.
