Your Second Choice Poem by Alexander Zabalza

Your Second Choice

Rating: 5.0

I acted like I did not see anything to protect myself.
I did not speak up because I did not want to lose what we had
I turn the other way, not to see the pain you are causing me
I close my eyes so I can have the strength to fight for you
I cover up my wounds so you can see how strong I was
But please, I don't want to be your second choice, but if I am, please walk away
My heart is fragile, and it can't stand another broken heart
I'm in the break of losing myself if I keep fighting
But please, I don't want to be your second choice, but if I am, please walk away for the sake of both of us
