Your Promise Poem by Lana May Hamlin

Your Promise

We are many miles apart
But tell me, am I still in your heart?
We talk on the phone everyday
To be with you is all I pray
I get so jealous knowing you’re hanging wing someone new
I feel like you’re replacing me, yes it’s true
They flirt with you so much
You cannot help but touch
I’m not there anymore so I don’t know why I care
My aching heart no one can repair
There’s only one thing that keeps me going
And that’s knowing
Your promise to me will eventually come true
Then it will only be me and you
