Your Love Is Due Poem by John W. McEwers

Your Love Is Due

First of the month,
your love is due, she says.
So she can buy all the candy
the kids want and take them
to get burgers and shakes

First of the month,
your love is due, she says.
Reluctantly, I pay her
for nothing
and get no love in return
