Your Love Poem by jennifer jane pryce

Your Love

Sweet man, from you I see in your eyes
A passion and longing and needing for ties
But I cannot give you what you desire
Cos if I did, that would make me a liar

Shall I take it, embrace it, cherish and hold it
Cannot offer it back on threads of gold
I’ll just take it, not break it, and never forsake it
And just keep it safe and place it on hold

How can I tell you I don’t feel the same?
Words that would reach you and cause you much pain
So, my darling this love that you give
I’ll cherish it dearly as long as I live
