Your Life In My Memory Poem by Elle Jay E..

Your Life In My Memory

If home is where the heart is
my hearts cold as a sore
If home is where the heart is
I dont have one anymore
I lock it away to keep it safe
and Save it for a rainy day
I lock it away to keep it away
from shouting and slamming the door
The punches knock the love out of it
But I hid it all away
I kept it at your house today
So my love for you could stay
If they knew how much I kept for you
they'd steal it all away
and Sell it on the black market
for those drugs it would pay
Alcohol dims the pain
but you brighten up my life
alcohol drains my brain
but you're the sight of my life
Third person views
and empty church pews
describe my life perfectly
where pop run blues
and tears that run lose are yours
to a tea.
