Your Lesson Learned Poem by Marilyn White

Your Lesson Learned

You had your weekend of fun
Learned your lesson the hard way
Got caught up in the moment
I know what was your mind
Thinking I would never ask why
Because you told me half the story
I know the sound in your voice
You weren’t going to fool me
Leaving your trial of lies
I saw right through them all
I wasn’t going to go without a stand
I am a fighter till the end you should know
But now you made another promise
That you have to keep in your heart
That you will never do that again
I didn’t mean to ruin your fun
I bet your bottom dollar you didn’t
Mean to break my heart the way you did
We can put this all behind us I love you
I want to move on to something new
So here is to a new weekend of fun
