You Will Fall Poem by Stephanie Donath

You Will Fall

You speak as if
you could say it all.
You sound as though
you could control the world.
You look as though
you'll never fall.

Hidden behind your lies
your secrets
your wishes, even you
will fall through the cracks.

Tearing others down,
building and shaping them
into who you wish
for them to be.
Cast them under your spell.
Trick and deceive them.
Spit them back as nothing
when you've had enough.
