You Were Heartbroken Poem by Roland Houston

You Were Heartbroken

I am sorry for what I have done,
I hurt your heart, and hurt your soul,
You put your trust in me, and I let it down,
You gave me your love, and I blew it away,
You gave me your care and attention,
All I did was throw it away,
What an idiot I am,
For hurting you, worse than ever before,
I cant call myself a father,
I've proven that today,
I yelled at you, growled at you enraged.
I'm so sorry for what I have done,
and now im forever on the run.
My true colors blead free,
I made you scared of me,
I'm forever sorry, though I'm not worth it,
Please see fit to forgive me my friend,
My friend who I call my son,
Daddy loves you lots, he really does,
But none of that matters,
All I know is I've broken your heart,
Sorry is all I can say,
but it won't do any good,
All because of my stress and anger,
You look at me in a different way,
No longer a father,
Just as someone you were heartbroken by.
