You There With The Sad Looking Face Poem by Francis Duggan

You There With The Sad Looking Face

You there with the sad looking face you always seem close to tears
You still miss the one you truly love though from you she's been gone for three years
By now you should have realized that she did not love you
Suppose love it cannot be love if it is not felt by two.

It's time that you got over her there are many more young single women out there
One in her mid twenties of your age one for you who would care,
One who would love you in return for the love to her you give
Though it seems with the heartache of unrequited love you would prefer to live

You there with the sad looking face in life you should move on
The one that you are pining for from you is forever gone
She is happily married with a six months old baby son
And she never really did love you when all is said and done.

You there with the sad looking face why waste your prime of life
Pining for one who jilted you who is now another's wife
The feelings that you have for her to you a source of woe
'Tis time that you got over her the past you should leave go.
