You'Re Losing Me Poem by Little Cat

You'Re Losing Me

YOU'RE LOSING ME
As I think by myself
and suffer from the doubt
that you've sown within my mind
YOU'RE LOSING ME
'Love you'
DON'T SAY THAT
how can you expect me to believe?
YOU'RE LOSING ME
how can you expect me to be happy
to not fake every smile
after you've admitted that?
YOU'RE LOSING ME
technicalities don't matter when you've promised
even if it was so insignificant;
even if all it secured was your title as 'mine'.
YOU'RE LOSING ME
In the depths of my mind,
I can no longer trust you unconditionally.
You brought it upon yourself
when you broke ever rule I administer to even myself.
YOU'RE LOSING ME
Even worse, I can't fault you...
What can I expect?
That the person I love
would not fit the stereotypes?
Would not knowingly cause me pain?
Would not take advantage of the fact
that I wasn't officially yours?
YOU'RE LOSING ME
Don't you hear the words
screaming through my mind?
Her ongoing chant as she
listens to your cries:
YOU'RE LOSING ME
It doesn't matter that what she says
should not be thought—
if the accompanying accusations
prove true.
I'd rather give her the satisfaction
than be blind.
YOU'RE LOSING ME
So hurry up
and dispel my doubt,
my love,
before her mantra
becomes the requiem:
'YOU'VE LOST HER...'
