You'Re Here Poem by mithzi silva

You'Re Here

I can hear you
Even if you’re not here
The love is long over due
And sometimes I wish for a beer

I want to drink my sorrows away
But it won’t help to get near
It will just delay
It will just delay the fact that your not here

You’re not here to see me
It hurts to think of you and us
You’re here but won’t let me be
The pain you gave to me was just a bonus plus

You’re here to see my lies
And the pain I carry behind my eyes
I just wish they could just fly
And than I could say my goodbyes

I can still smell your scent on me
It hurts to breathe
It even hurts to close my eyes because I see we
And it just will not ever leave

So even though you’re still here
Can you just leave?
Leave and let me drink my beer?
Drink and let me grieve
