You Lied Poem by Alyssa Parr

You Lied

You lied.
You made me cry.
You made me waste what was meant to be
The most important thing to me
Right now
And i’ll never get it back

I’m mad.
You made me sad.
All those times that you were ‘busy’
And then you had the decency
To walk
Past my house with all your friends

I was used
And then abused
you couldn’t even spare me
just a little bit of dignity
you spread
nasty rumours all ‘round school

And then
You try pretend
That all of that meant nothing
And you say you want me back again
You don’t
You just feel a bit alone

And now
And God knows how
I love someone who loves me back
He’s truthful, kind, my heart won’t crack
In two
Just like it did before
I’m over you.
