You Have Touched Me Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

You Have Touched Me

Rating: 5.0

Little darling
You came to me so soft and sweet
You speak of love and it hurts you we can't meet
Don't you know, the minute our hearts touched
I felt you so much
I let my heart begin to fall
I give you love love and care but not yet all
It's hard for a heart to trust
that's been left in the rain so long, left to rust
But I try for you, try to be a friend
Though so much more care, unknown to you, I send
Let's not give love a name
Or turn it into a game that will twist your heart and make it cry
and turn love and kindness into a lie
Let's remain close friends and try
In time our hearts will know more
and if God blesses us I wish love to come through our door
Because this of you I already know
You're beautiful in heart and soul and in you my love could easily grow
in other blessed ways yet to know
Let's be patient and kind
Let's be friends who stay on each others mind
I need your care more than I can say
I'd be heartbroken now if you leave and slip away
so all this broken heart can ask
if its' not an impossible task...too much to say..
Please stay
I promise to always care
to always of you be aware
and when the world gets you down
I'll always try to be around
and if I ever see you frown
I'll try to make you smile
This is the way I treat a friend
In my heart, friehdship has no end
Because all our life is just a short while
and it's a blessing to share with you for a mile
and wish that many more miles are yet to come
and one day, perhaps we'll each know in our hearts
that you and me are meant to become one
and if so, that happiness will grow
and never become undone
But for now, all I can most humbly ask or say
is Please stay! !
I need you even though it's hard for someone like me to say.
My heart will forever break if you should go away.
Please don't speak of goodbyes
And bring more tears to weary eyes
I love you more than you realize
