You (Don't Exist) Poem by Ari Nystrom Rice

You (Don't Exist)

I don't know who you are!
I've been looking for you all across the city
I feel between us the bars
You know they must be feeling witty
look through jars
I've never been so busy
pulled away from who you are
I don't know if your pretty
I don't care! (?)
I want to know if your back is itchy
I want to know I can care
I am obsessed with you absurdly
I endlessly compare
just hoping someone will care
